Our Story
harrypotterhousequiz.org started as a small passion project: a more thoughtful, more accurate, and more beautifully designed Sorting Hat experience than the ones already on the web. What began as a single quiz has grown into a multilingual home for Potterheads around the world — a place to discover which Hogwarts house you truly belong to, what your Patronus might be, which wand chooses you, and which character mirrors you most closely.
Today the Site is read in 11 languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Indonesian, Filipino, Hindi, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese) and welcomes fans of every age, background, and house allegiance.

harrypotterhousequiz.org is operated by an independent team of long-time Harry Potter readers, web developers, translators, and illustrators scattered across multiple time zones. We are not a corporation, a studio, or a licensed Wizarding World partner — just a small group that cares about getting the details right.
How We Are Funded
We keep the quizzes and the vast majority of the Site free. To cover the cost of servers, image generation, translation, and content, we rely on a combination of:
- Optional Premium Reports and Galleons packs purchased by readers who want extras.
- Display advertising shown alongside (never inside) the quiz flow.
- Affiliate commissions on a small number of recommended books, audiobooks, and merchandise — clearly marked and explained on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
We do not sell user data and we do not run sponsored articles disguised as editorial content.
